QS-1 Cement quick setting

QS-1 Cement quick setting is a solution that, after its addition to cement, causes reduction of its setting time to less than a minute. It is used to prevent from severe leakages in concrete structures, tanks and storages, basements and, generally, any case requiring temporary or permanent prevention of leakage.

The major use of QS-1 Cement quick setting is for repair operation or construction of wet surfaces. In such cases, first, the surface should be dried to enable the repair operation or construction.

Mix one measure of the solution with two measures of cement and use it. The common way of use is that you pour the QS-1 Cement quick setting solution in a suitable container and uniformly and quickly add cement to it, then mix it rapidly for a short time to obtain a consistent paste and immediately place it on the leakage location and press it to stiffen. The mix’s setting time is 30-45 seconds from the start of mixing. increasing the temperatures of the surrounding and the materials may result in quicker reaction and shorter setting time.

– Clean and prepare the working surface and remove the loose fragments.

– Collect the extra water available in the surroundings.

– Prepare the mortar only for one application.

– For surfaces with extensive leakage, do the work piecemeal and try to direct the leakage to one point. Then convey the water out of the environment by placing a piece of PVC pipe in the leakage point and reinforcing its sides. Afterwards, temporarily prevent from water penetration by placing a piece of rock or concrete inside the pipe and immediately cover it by quick setting mortar.

– Dilution by water causes the setting time interruption and the quality reduction and it is not recommended.

– If required, you may add some fine sand to the cement. In this case, estimate amount of the solution through trial and error proportionate to the intended concentration of the mortar.
