CA-1 Concrete curing agent

To achieve high strength and good quality concrete, providing an appropriate setting for it to reach its maximum possible strength is a must. Specific issues are brought up during concreting in warm weather, mainly caused by the fast evaporation of concrete water. Immediate and drastic evaporation of water results in the reduction of concrete’s efficiency and strength, its contraction, and the development of surface cracks.

A set of actions taken to complete cement’s hydration and achieve the concrete’s given strength is called curing.

The most common curing method is covering concrete’s surface with a thin layer to prevent the evaporation of its water. If this coating is a proper one, in addition to providing properties of good curing, it will have no adverse effect on the concrete, and will gradually fade out after a month by atmospheric factors.

CA-1 Concrete curing agent is produced based on silicon and a variety of resins and its function is according to ASTM C309.

Category:

This agent may be applied to any extensive concreting such as water conveying canals, lots, and hall floorings. It is advisable in places where the concrete is subject to sunlight or wind, causing fast evaporation of concrete’s water, especially in Iran’s southern areas.

  • Compared to old-fashioned methods, the use of CA-1 Curing agent results in saving time and workforce.
  • No need to water concrete
  • No need for concrete protection by jute or plastic.
  • It enhances concrete’s durability and strength and prevents its drying and cracking.
    • Apply curing agent on a relatively dried surface of fresh concrete, depending on ambient conditions, 10 to 30 minutes after finishing the concrete surface and for columns, simultaneous with formwork stripping. Mix CA-1 Curing agent with 2 to 3 times the proportion of water and stir well till obtaining a consistent and homogeneous solution. Then, apply the mix on the concrete’s surface with a brush or spray gun. If the surface is not entirely covered, make minor repairs after half an hour.

One kg of CA-1 Curing agent may averagely cover 5 to 10 m2 of the concrete’s surface.
